Experience
Jonathan has had a varied exposure to a broad range of client and professional
issues, both residential and commercial, which has led to a transition into the
areas of investigation of building defects, expert witness, residential
valuation and the resolution of building related disputes.
The issues found in dispute / defect related work centre around the 'problem',
and the 'people', and they way these interact. As part of any instruction the
two issues need to be separated at an early stage.
Professional work has centred around resolving problems including bespoke
valuations, building surveys, dilapidations, party walls, boundaries,
refurbishment, new builds, project management, financial vetting, employer's
agents, roof renewals, external decorations and strategic property reviews.
Background
Jonathan has worked in many sectors of the property market including
commercial, residential, insurance, retail, office, education and industrial in
both the private and public sector ( including both central and local
government ).
Around half his career has been based in London with major practices, and the
other half based in Oxfordshire.
He has also split his time 50:50 between client management roles and private
practice. This has given a unique insight into both sides of professional
practice, and led to a greater understanding of client issues and the
difficulties / dilemmas they frequently face.
